Is it just me or does Lynch comes across as racist? You know, the "let's send all the foreigners back because they eat our food" gibberish...
Has he forgotten that we were all immigrants at some point in history? Does he really think that's funny?

Listen to the rest of the verse: "And taking our best jobs to boot; like landscaping, dishwashing, picking our fruit." THAT'S THE JOKE. Those are the WORST jobs of our society. No Ameican wants them, yet illegal immigrants will gladly take them for a shot at the American dream. Foreigners, legal or illegal, are taking nothing from us, certainly not our food! We're the fattest country in the world. We have tons of food. More than we could ever need. Do you really think a guy named LYNCH has forgotten that we were all immigrants once (unless your name is Running Bull)? In his live show, he does sometimes point out that the verse is ironic, and that it's not the foreigners who are the lazy ones. I assume you're a fan and I'm surprised you missed the joke. Maybe you're young. Or, maybe you're not familiar with Stephen's work. Either way, hope this makes sense to you. Now if you were a kitten.... |

Well... before I pass judgment on someone I like to know as much about the subject as I can. That way I can make an educated decision as to my opinions about the subject. I could have very well changed the online station I was listening to but, that would have meant that I would also turn my back on a potential social issue that would warrant our society's attention. Specially you, the fans of S.L.
I realize now, that S.L. intentions were good (thanks for the explanation skittles!).
During the short period of time that I've been able to get to know a little better what S.L. is all about, I realize that people like Diana up here is probably not what S.L. would consider his "preferred" target audience. I think that he would appreciate more wit and smart satire than cuss words. It's okay though, there's still time. The mind of a 17 year old changes almost as fast as their current boyfriend.

You must have a lot of time on your hands to actually sign up as a member of the message board only to bash Superhero. If ya don't like the songs-don't listen to them and don't criticize those who do like it. It's meant to be funny, you don't have to take everything in the songs so seriously.

Sorry dude, if you thought I was fuzzing (whatever the hell that is) then your wrong. Getting worked up over a message board isnt something I do. (just cause I hit the caps lock to get your attention you assume I actually give a rats ass about what you think) I couldnt care less what you think. I was very surprised to read your message. I'm sorry I came across as someone that wanted to bash you guys. I was only concerned about what I had heard on the radio. It's all good though, it was just a misunderstanding." as the message says, they're sorry that their post offended us stephen fans, and they didn't mean for it to be insulting or anything like that. so can we all just accept that, and leave yupper3d alone? there is no use in dragging out something that should have ended a while ago, and stirring up more trouble. |

for those of you who don't know, the group of postings which corelates to a certain topic is called a THREAD. it is called this for a reason. you are supposed to start at the top and follow the entire conversation down the line, or THREAD, in order to track the progress of the conversation. and if "someone" would've had sense enough to do this, a lot of this negativity would be cleared up. IF WE'VE GOT YUPPER ON OUR SIDE, WHY WOULD WE CONTINUE TO INSULT THEM!?
nobody came on here to bash super hero. yupper wandered on in here, for whatever reason, asking a simple question. it is our duty to answer that question in a civilized and mature manner.
some of us are incapable of this. the question could've been met with a simple and dignified, "no, he is not a racist. please appreciate stephen for his own unique style and do not take the 'thoughts and opinions' expressed in his music too seriously."
but instead, we come out with telling them to lube up their ass, and stop being a p***y or whatever, and i DON'T THINK WE'RE DOING STEPHEN ANY FAVORS BY DOING SO!
please, if you wish to represent stephen and his fans, think of what you say might do to the group. i don't feel like being portrayed as someone who continually passes judgement and can't appreciate an honest and innocent question from someone who's only goal is to better understand stephen lynch's comedic style.
and no, yupper is not one of those "kill a kitten protesters." you should never say that about ANYONE! i don't see yupper saying "BOYCOTT STEPHEN LYNCH! HE IS A RACIST!" i only see them asking "is he or isn't he? please tell me so that i can form an informed opinion regarding the man you folks have come to emulate."
