I've been a stephen Lynch fan for about a year now and I don't understand why he isn't more famous than he is. I saw a show a few months ago and it was the best live performance I've ever seen. Better than George Carlin, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock....honest to god. It's got to be a matter of time before he has his own show on Comedy Central or something. The only disappointment I have had so far is when I asked him to write something for my website www.jimbosworld.comand he never replied to my email. To be honest, I wouldn't have replied either. Well, I live in the Philadelphia area so if anyone hears of Stephen coming to town let me know (I already check his website every day to see if he set his fall tour). Oh well, I'm glad they invented this message board..its a great way for the fans to get SL info out there. |

I think he will be, it is only a matter of time.
By the way, climbing mt washington NICE i am a big hiker myself. Actually i almost signed up to be on of the volunteers when you stay up there for the winter for 2 weeks but you must stay 2 weeks in the summer too back in college but didn't end up doing it. and LOVE acadia national park. thunder hole. My family has a time share in North Conway so i am there a LOT!

I got the picture from some website. I'm sure you have seen it before. I'm not sure which one tho. I wasn't at that philly show but I was at the new jersey show at the stoned pony. It was amazing.

dear jn9ne, I also love hiking and climbing and all of that fun stuff. North Conway is the place to be(winter or summer). Actually I lost a pair of teva sandals at the Pinkham Notch visitor center so if you ever see a pair when you are up there grab them and just let me know! By the way have you ever gone to any swimming holes up there? Emerald Pool, etc....  until next time. |

haha mr. hobbit i will look for them. i will there pretty soon. there is a great jump we do from a bridge,we call 2nd iron. So fun there. oh and for climbing...cathedral ledge  i have never done that BUT go up there and have watched them. I highly highly suggest a saco trip! we do a 2 days weekend trip get boozed up and have fun for 2 days and there are some GREAT rope swings on it. always always a fun little thing to do. so many funny stories come from that weekend in the summer. i guess i digress though off the topic so i am gonna just add stephen is BETTER then adam sandler so no one gets mad. |

Because Adam Sandler was on SNL, and has been in a lot of good movies. Stephen is a comedy singer, not bound to be nearly as famous as Adam Sandler...maybe if he got on SNL or something.

Adam Sandler's best stuff was on SNL ie:OperaMan. Haven't cared much for his movies-his stand up was better! Stephen is in a different category, but he would certainly make a great regular guest spot person on SNL!!! Don't see Stephen in movies (is my imagination lacking?) but he certainly could you more exposure in the T.V. media. Stephen wil be as famous as he chooses to be....

If Stephen got on SNL period it would help his reputation a lot. Adam Sandler was a cast member though, and had a lot of great moments.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything but i just have a question about the pictures... Wouldnt you have to have the pictures be copy writed or a trade mark of your site for him not to be able to use them?

I have his permission ( in a written form) that I was allowed to take the photos and that they are mine. If anyone else wants to use ( even stephen) they need my permission. Because they are copyrighted to me. Stephen knew this and was ok with it, because he also knows what I'm using the pictures for. And I agreed not to sell any with out his ok first... |

i don't think stephen lynch should be as famous as adam sandler. i think it would take away from the experience if he had a bazillion people trying to yell things at him and grab him and get him to sign their boobs. i don't really like adam sandler's music. he does too much flibbity-floobity crap and stuff that doesn't have anything to do with anything to fill in for when he can't think of sommething original. like the thanksgiving song. "i like to eat turkey in my big brown shoe"? "i once saw a movie with betty grabel"? it's total bull corn. but i love him in the movies. i think he should stick to that. i think stephen should stay small so he doesn't turn into a jerk or lose his touch or get burned out anything.

Lynchnuts will never be as famous as Adam Sandler because of the movie deals. A.S. is a pretty good actor and is getting better with each film. Stephen Lynch is a terrible actor.

I think he seems to be a pretty good one with his reactions to his songs. And he was active in stage productions, plus his degree is based in theater so as you say about adam sandler, he got better with each film....same can be said. I think he would be awesome in films.
I want him on Conan (fellow bostonian) I saw Kevin McDonald from kids in the hall fame on there singing about oh god forget the name like a sarah and he dated a whole bunch of sarahs and it was no where near the humor of stephen songs...i think conan would be a perfect venue for him to be on. So email conan people and tell him you want stephen lynch. haha I bet in a second he would put him on.
On a side note, i miss kids in the hall....such a funny show.

jorno 67 is a friend of stephens... ( he says so in another post) They use to "work" together at the Barn Theatre. He was joking, he thinks stephen is a great actor/singer, but cant dance... ( well thats what he said when we chatted...)

;D Well, I was just telling my father yesterday that I feel strongly that Stephen is better than Weird Al, Adam Sandler, and George Carlin, and beleive me, I am a HUGE fan of all four of them.
But in every way, lyrically, musically, the way he holds himself, I feel he is better than all the Comedians above. I am a big music lover, and I absolutly have fallen in love with the Kill a Kitten finished track. The music is better.Now, Stephen may not use accordians and funny voices to make his song's great, but he talks about things that adults understand. (This coming from a 13 year old...  woo...) He IS better than Sandler, 'cause Stephen's songs have points to them. I'd be willing to bet on him really hitting the mainstream in the next two years or so. Plus, Adam's starting to fade a little. If you look at the history of comedy music, you have to stay fresh if you want to appeal to the ever-changing public. I'd say his big competition right now is Jimmy Fallon, another up and coming guitar player.
The only thing that gets people to really buy Sandler and Fallon CDs in the quantities they do, is that they've been exposed to both of the men because of Saturday Night Live. Jimmy is the current sex symbol of the show, and Adam was controversial (NBC wanted to fire him, because they didn't "get his humor". Look where he is now). If Stephen Lynch where to be the host and/or musical guest next season (are you listening NBC??), he'd surely establish a larger fan-base.
And regarding the comment about George Carlin and Chris Rock; they're both more of "critical comments". They point out the dumb parts of society, and criticize it. Lynch uses music to MAKE FUN of society. There's a huge difference there.
