I'm aware of several website that give you access to every single Stephen Lynch song on both his websites for download. I'm not talking about the ones that give three of four songs for download...I"m talking about all of them. Well, if you see any of these sites, protest. I don't normally care if people pirate stuff from really really really famous people, cuz' they have lots of money. But, I don't think Stephen is well known enough or rich enough to afford losing all that money.
Piracy bad...especially from Stephen Lynch!
Respect man. Buy the cd's!

I'm talking about people who basically burn all the songs then make copies and give them to friends and stuff. yeah. that is not cool. sometimes i might download a song that's not on an album, but i listen to it a time or two and then get rid of it. i never put it on cd. and i have backup copies of "superhero" and "a little bit special" for myself just in case something happens. and i use them to let people borrow so i don't have to risk having one of the good ones lost, stolen or damaged. but i don't hand them out. i have one copy of each. also, don't be sneakng into shows or taping them. that's not right. so, yeah. don't be copying cd's and handing them out like free demos. i think stephen's worked hard enough to get out of the "free demo" stage of his career and he doesn't need a bunch of stingey, ungreatful turds putting him back there. |

hey when i saw stephen at cmu, he mentioned about his cds for sale after the show, "you can get them after the show, or download them off the internet <insert crowd laughter here>, whatever gets you guys to the shows. thats all that really matters." honest. f**k the cds kids, go see him live.

The main one I'm aware of is this site called um...I'm not sure...blobby.net I think...but if you type his name in google, then type gay in search within these results. You'll find them. I'm not like a big stick in the mud about downloadin' stuff, I just don't wanna' take away from his income, that's all.  He's not like madonna where he makes a million dollers to just...exist. |

While I personally own his records, I don't see anything wrong with downloading them... Stephen doesn't make his money really on album sales. It's not like he's got some exhuberent debt he has to pay back to his record label. Hell, the album was recorded live! GO TO HIS SHOWS! That's the important thing. The better he does on stage, the more his name gets out there. I've sent a few mp3's off of his albums to friends of mine that didn't get the Opie and Anthony show and were unexposed to him, and now they are fans and attend his shows if he's in the area. MP3's do their best work on people like Stephen...they spread the music and get his name out there. So I say, if your friends don't know Stephen...send them some mp3's!!!! -Tim  |

So I say, if your friends don't know Stephen...send them some mp3's!!!! -Tim yeah that is an ok reason to share them. i've e-mailed them to a couple of radio stations just to see if they might like to play his stuff. hell, there are people who get paid to do that and i'm doing it free of charge. |

Fair enough to say don't copy them for your friends (which i dont)! But i have no choice but to download songs and put them onto cd's! I live in another country where, no matter how hard i have tried, i cannot buy the albums, because the record store just will not get them in for me.
I feel bad because in a sence i am ripping him off but what other choice do i have!?

Oh you are so damn smart........but unless you have a credit card then you are highly unlikly to be able to get anything off the net...and seeing that A)i'm only 19 and B) i dun earn enough to get a credit card, then its highly unlikly that anything bought off the net will be coming my way.

Hah man. I have no idea who Stephen Lynch is, so you might be wondering why I'm here, a reasonable question so I'll explain!
See, earlier, someone downloaded an mp3 and the sound was all distorted after like 20 seconds. He started flipping out, "OH NO THE RIAA IS COMING TO GET ME I DOWNLOADED A HAXED MP3~!!!@"
Anyway, to get more to the point, you know blobbynet? The site which supposedly hosts all of these Stephen Lynch mp3s? The guy who runs the server is a friend of mine. But I'm getting a little off topic here, when we were all pissing ourselves in fear of the RIAA he mentioned that he had found this topic, and that the Stephen Lynch Alliance was out to get him, because they found out he was hosting his mp3s.
I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with IRC (internet relay chat) but Mr. Blobby (we call him r00tus) and I like to hang out in the IRC channel called #realpoor on irc.cyber2k.net. The guy who hosts blobbynet goes by the nick of r00tus there. I obviously go by Minion.
Feel free to log in and bash him. I'm sure he gets lonely with just me constantly insulting him.
Apparently he's a real big Stephen Lynch fan though! Personally as I stated I dunno who the hell he is! But after reading this, I think I might download the mp3s and possibly even buy the CD!
Who says MP3s are bad publicity eh?
