Well, Down to the Old Pub Instead is nothing but chords, so there you go.

Did I forget to mention that I can play it too...? Sorry if that sounded rude before, didn't mean to come off that way. I'll find you those tabs.

Down to the old pub is only chords. Stephen has a certain way of playing guitar that makes things come off great. There may be one or two single notes in there, he may singly pick the "G" note before he starts the "G" chord, but that's it. Trust me, it's his strummings style that gives it the unique sound

I know this might not apply to you, but I sit down at my keyboard and find the chords that way.
I dunno...that's just how I learned how to play his songs.

And most of his songs are just G, C, D, and some other various chords.

Try playing along with the cd, and just finding the chords. That works.

ive been playing for a while its just like sometimes chords sound the same other times they dont plus i hate to tune my guitar so usually it dont sound right... i dont always go for tuning i go for practicing the chords in the right order with correct fingering so when i feel like playing for someone i can just do it...

I suggest getting a $15 tuner and tuning the guitar man, that is essential. Then just f**k around with every chord A-G and see what key the song is in. (whatever the song ends on), Once you have that, you only have so many other chords that can be used in the song. Either that or hum the note that Stephen sings and then match it to a note on the guitar. To be honest, that's the easiest way to learn all the songs.

You don't even have to waste 15 dollars. Look for an online guide on how to tune your guitar manually (takes 30 seconds if you're good at it, really). So, do you know the chords E, C, G, and D? There's Kill A Kitten right there. Have fun.

i have a tuner and i tune it about once a month... and i cant sing or hum in any key so no matter what i tried to do it wouldnt come out right. i would just have to hear the end...pause, play chord if its not right do it again with a different one and it gets too frustrating... oh and my tuner i think is more than 15 dollars but im just lazy...i think i can wait until someone figures it out...

Yeah dude, you can tune by ear, but you have to make sure the first string is in tune, otherwise your guitar might be in tune, but just to different notes. And by the way, kill a kitten is in Em not just E. That s**t is essential in Lynches songs, knowing your minors, majors, sharps, and flats

i know how to play kill a kitten you play Em G(i think) C and D or those chords in a different order but i dont want to go look now so ill just leave it at that... i can play most of his songs and i just taught myself how to play shes got a smile the right way that tab is wrong... wrong chords first of all and some strings are supposed to be played together not one after the other... and like the last E it shows what just way off... but ive taught myself to play it right...

That s**t is essential in any song.
And thank you for pointing out it's E minor. When I learned how to play it I was just just screwing around. And I tune my first string using this Esteban video I got with one of my gutars. ;D
